Job description
Job Summary
The Greenhouse Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operations within the greenhouse facility, ensuring optimal growth conditions and performing various tasks related to plant care. This role is crucial for maintaining plant health and supporting research and production needs.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage environmental conditions in the greenhouse to promote plant growth.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of plants, ensuring they are healthy and free from pests and diseases.
- Assist with planting, watering, fertilizing, and pruning of plants as needed.
- Document growth progress and maintain accurate records of greenhouse operations.
- Collaborate with other staff members to implement research protocols and production schedules.
Qualifications
- A background in horticulture, botany, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in greenhouse operations or plant maintenance is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Knowledge of pest management and plant care techniques.
