Job Summary
The Heart Failure Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering specialized nursing care to patients with advanced heart failure. This position involves working within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive and compassionate care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients requiring intensive monitoring and therapy for their cardiac conditions.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare team.
- Monitor vital signs and clinical status of patients, identifying any changes that require intervention.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding heart failure management.
- Document patient progress and any changes in condition accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience in critical care, particularly in an ICU or similar setting.
- Advanced knowledge of cardiac care and heart failure protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
