The role of the Heat Transfer & Fluid Flow Engineer – Fiber Manufacturing involves spearheading the creation of innovative technologies grounded in scientific principles to boost manufacturing efficiency and enhance product quality while ensuring cost-effective operations.
Job Responsibilities
Commitment to Safety

- Identify and rectify safety risks in the work environment; enhance process safety through Design Hazard Eliminations (DHEs).
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and corporate guidelines.
Fiberization Process Development & Implementation
- Deepen foundational understanding of centrifugal fiberizing techniques.
- Translate insights into the creation of fiberizing systems that markedly enhance manufacturing output and product excellence.
- Broaden comprehension of fiber collection and the resultant packing structure.
- Develop collection mechanisms that optimize weight distribution and packing structure for improved thermal and mechanical properties.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to quickly prototype innovative concepts.
- Design and execute experiments to confirm new ideas.
- Lead the transition of concepts to practical application at the plant level.
- Utilize external collaborations to enhance capabilities and foster innovation.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Generate competitive edge by identifying business prospects and aligning technological strategies.
- Collaborate across functions with Enterprise Innovation teams and associated partners.
- Engage with external entities to expedite solutions and enhance material knowledge.
- Encourage and support the development of colleagues, even without direct supervisory duties.
- Maintain effective organization and communication when liaising with peers.
- Employ project management methodologies for precise execution.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on thermal/fluid sciences (candidates with degrees in Aeronautical or Chemical Engineering and relevant experience may be accepted).
- Familiarity with mechanical design, drawings, and industry standards.
- 0–5 years of experience in industrial design or operations.
- Openness to travel 25–35%.
Preferred Experience
- Proficient in commercial CAD, CFD software, and FEA tools.
- Experience with the design and testing of high-temperature systems, including material selection challenges.
- Hands-on experience in the design and testing of high-speed rotating systems.
- Exposure to working in harsh environments with limited measurement access.
- Understanding of combustion system design or modeling.
- Familiarity with induction heating and alternative fuels/decarbonization strategies.
