Job Summary
The HIM Specialist plays a vital role in managing patient documentation by ensuring it is accurately scanned, indexed, and reviewed within the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This position emphasizes the importance of maintaining high standards of documentation for patient care.
Responsibilities
- Manage the scanning and indexing of patient records in the Epic EHR system.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct quality control assessments to ensure documentation meets required standards.
- Address and resolve any documentation issues in collaboration with clinical staff.
- Support chart audits and facilitate the release of information as necessary.
Qualifications
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience with Epic software is highly desirable.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations is strongly preferred.
