Job description
Job Summary
The Histology Technician plays a crucial role in the preparation and examination of tissue samples for medical diagnostics. This position involves utilizing a range of laboratory techniques to process specimens, ensuring high-quality results that assist healthcare professionals in disease identification and treatment planning.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic examination.
- Perform staining procedures to enhance the visualization of cellular structures.
- Ensure accuracy and precision in specimen handling and processing.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Document results accurately and assist in the interpretation of findings.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare staff to provide support for diagnostic services.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in histotechnology or a related field.
- Certification as a Histological Technician (HT) by a recognized accrediting body is preferred.
- Proficient in laboratory techniques and equipment related to histology.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work meticulously.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
