Solon, OH Human Resources Manager Overview:
This position serves as a strategic and hands-on partner supporting both people operations and day-to-day plant functionality. The role blends human resources leadership with operational support to ensure a compliant workplace, a strong employee experience, and smooth production execution. Success in this role requires visibility on the plant floor, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to balance workforce needs with operational priorities. Human Resources Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end hiring efforts for hourly and salaried plant roles to ensure production demands are consistently met.
- Build talent pipelines through community outreach, job fairs, and recruiting events.
- Monitor workforce levels and develop staffing strategies that align with seasonal changes and long-range business needs.
- Participate in and support recurring onboarding sessions for new employees.
- Maintain regular touchpoints with employees throughout their lifecycle to promote engagement and reduce turnover.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and front-line leaders regarding workplace concerns, questions, and conflict resolution.
- Partner with leadership to implement engagement initiatives that strengthen morale, performance, and retention.
- Conduct employee exit discussions and provide insights to leadership based on trends and feedback.
- Ensure HR documentation, employee files, and reporting are accurate and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to labor practices and compliance standards.
- Manage onboarding processes and coordinate training programs to support employee skill development.
- Work closely with supervisors to assess development needs and identify growth and advancement opportunities within the plant.
- Contribute to broader plant initiatives and take on additional responsibilities as needed to support operational and HR goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least five years of HR experience, including a minimum of three years supporting a manufacturing environment within the food industry.
- Solid understanding of employment regulations, food safety requirements, and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and support operational teams.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma concepts.
- Hands-on experience using HRIS and ERP platforms.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
