Hydraulics Field Service Technician
Southern California (LA Area)

The Hydraulics Field Service Technician is responsible for providing both demand-based and scheduled field service, warranty support, and system start-up assistance for new and existing customers. In this role, the technician analyzes component and system malfunctions and supports or directly performs hydraulic repairs. The position primarily involves working on legacy and current products, with occasional work on non-company equipment. The technician also collaborates closely with hydraulic and electrical engineering teams to resolve technical issues and identify opportunities for system upgrades.
Hydraulics Field Service Technician Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer sites to provide hydraulic service support (approximately 75% travel)
- Diagnose equipment issues and coordinate solutions with internal teams
- Operate computer-based diagnostic tools for hydraulic and electronic systems
- Complete service reports and documentation accurately and on time
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, and circuits
- Interpret hydraulic schematics and basic electrical drawings
- Communicate effectively with customers on proper equipment use
Hydraulic Field Service Technician Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with industrial hydraulic systems
- Strong hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read hydraulic schematics and basic electrical drawings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and service documentation tools
- Strong customer communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel up to 75% (primarily CA/AZ, occasional nationwide)
- Valid driver’s license
- Successful completion of background check, drug screening, and driving record check
- Ability to work in industrial environments and at heights
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
