Job Summary
The Infusion Care Nurse is responsible for delivering specialized nursing care to patients receiving infusion therapy. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the safe administration of medications and treatments while providing education and support to patients and their families. This position is part-time, catering to flexible working hours to meet the needs of both the staff and patients.
Responsibilities
- Administer intravenous medications and treatments to patients as per established protocols.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall response to therapy, adjusting care as necessary.
- Educate patients and caregivers about infusion therapies, potential side effects, and post-treatment care.
- Document patient care and treatment outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in the development of patient care plans and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the state of practice.
- Experience in infusion therapy or a related field is preferred.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
