IT Application Consultant
Remote (Located in Indianapolis, IN | Seeking candidates within a commutable distance for in-office meetings)
Contract Duration: 9 Months (Possible extension)
Compensation: $57-62/hr W2

Overview:
The selected contractor will focus on the continuous maintenance and development of sustainability technology solutions such as Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Sustainability Manager (MSM), and Environmental Resilience Analytics (ERA). This position is essential in ensuring the smooth functionality of ESG reporting tools, data workflows, and dashboards, and it will also play a role in compliance, data governance, and the optimization of technical infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Application Management
  • Address and resolve issues related to data and metric calculations in MSM and ERA.
  • Update and manage dashboards and reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee system interfaces and integrations in both upstream and downstream workflows.
  • Ensure adherence to sustainability regulations and standards.
  • Assist in data analysis and deriving insights.
  • Keep configurations for MSM, SDSF, and Fabric current and functional.
  • Implement updates and patches from Microsoft Git to MSM and Power Platform applications.
  • Infrastructure Management
  • Manage licensing and renewal processes.
  • Oversee data ingestion, transformation, and storage processes in Fabric.
  • Develop and enforce security measures and data governance controls within the Power Platform and Fabric settings.
  • Facilitate integration of systems and tools within the Microsoft sustainability technology ecosystem.
  • Optimize cloud resource usage and maintain system uptime and backup solutions through the Power Platform Admin Center and Fabric Admin Portal.
  • Solution Utilization and Enhancements
  • Drive change management processes for new data flows and notification systems.
  • Maintain and update the internal knowledge base and training resources.
  • Manage the backlog of feature enhancements, prioritizing necessary updates.
  • Improve methodologies, reporting frameworks, and dashboard visualizations.
  • Re-execute data jobs and upload corrected data during error resolution phases.
  • Conduct manual data processes outside of scheduled freeze periods, as required.

Required Experience and Skills:
Technical Proficiencies:

  • Strong command over Microsoft Power Platform, encompassing Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, and Fabric Compute.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse, Delta Lake, Azure SQL, Azure Blob Storage, and OneLake architecture.
  • Acquainted with MSM, ArcGIS, and ESG data structures.
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security measures.
  • Experience in monitoring and optimizing cloud resources.
  • Analytical and Reporting Expertise
  • Ability to interpret ESG data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Experience in designing dashboards and automating reports.
  • Understanding of sustainability frameworks, including CSRD, TCFD, CDP, and ISSB.
  • Project and Change Leadership
  • Experience in managing changes in data collection and reporting methodologies.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a list of feature enhancements.
  • Strong skills in documentation and knowledge management.
