Lab Technician
Independence, OH

As a vital member of the team, the Lab Technician will focus on facilitating the development and introduction of new products. Key responsibilities include mixing components based on experimental protocols, executing processing tasks with equipment like Brabenders, Mathis ovens, or two-roll mills, and carrying out a range of tests to assess essential characteristics such as mechanical strength, color, haze, and flame resistance.
Lab Technician Responsibilities:
- Work closely with technical professionals on initiatives related to product, process, or application development, tailored to the job’s specific area of focus.
- Execute laboratory tasks, including conducting new experiments and preparing samples.
- Utilize processing machinery such as Brabenders and two-roll mills.
- Perform a variety of tests, including ASTM standards and tailored assessments to gather important data on mechanical, physical, and flame-retardant properties.
- Precisely measure, document, and communicate test results.
- Adhere to safety and cleanliness protocols.
- Ensure alignment with the Company’s Quality, Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security policies, and maintain awareness of applicable ISO 9001 and RC14001 management system standards for this role.
Lab Technician Qualifications:
- An Associate’s degree is preferred.
- More than 2 years of experience in a chemical or plastic laboratory setting is preferred.
