Lab Technician
Independence, OH
$55,000-65,000 The Lab Technician will play a key role in supporting new product development and launch. This position involves mixing ingredients according to experimental designs, performing processing steps using equipment such as Brabender, Mathis oven, or two-roll mill, and conducting various tests to evaluate critical properties, including mechanical strength, color, haze, and flame retardancy. Lab Technician Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with professional technical staff on projects involving product, process, or application development, depending on the job’s focus area.
- Perform laboratory work, including new experiments and sample preparation.
- Operate processing equipment such as Brabenders and two-roll mills.
- Conduct various tests, including ASTM methods and customized testing to capture critical properties such as mechanical, physical, flame retardancy, etc.
- Accurately measure, record, and report data.
- Follow safety and housekeeping procedures.
- Ensure compliance with the Company Quality, Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security policies and awareness of ISO 9001 and RC14001 management system requirements applicable to this position.
Lab Technician Qualifications
- Associate’s degree preferred.
- >2 years of chemical or plastic lab experience preferred.
