Job description
Job Summary
The Labor and Delivery Nurse (RN) plays a pivotal role in providing dedicated care to women during the labor process and postpartum period. This nursing professional is responsible for ensuring a safe and supportive environment for both the mothers and infants they care for.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess the condition of patients during labor and delivery.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Administer medications and assist in pain management as necessary.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement appropriate care plans.
- Perform individual assessments of maternal and fetal well-being.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) is advantageous.
- Experience in Labor and Delivery settings is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
