Job Summary
The position of Laboratory Health & Safety Lead/Environmental Chemist is available in Corvallis, Oregon. The role emphasizes the importance of analytical expertise in fostering environmental protection and sustainability. As part of ICF’s engagement with the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), you will play a vital role in supporting initiatives at the newly established Region 9 Laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Oversee laboratory health and safety protocols to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Conduct environmental analysis and investigations to provide data that contributes to environmental protection efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in laboratory safety and hazardous substance management.
- Develop and enhance standard operating procedures to improve laboratory operations.
- Facilitate training programs to educate staff on safety practices and environmental chemistry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a laboratory setting, particularly focusing on health and safety standards.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and laboratory safety compliance.
- Effective communication and team collaboration abilities.
