Lab Technician

The Lab Technician plays a vital role in supporting a research team focused on the innovation and assessment of plant breeding techniques. Under the direction of a supervisor, the chosen candidate will assist with plant tissue culture research pursuits. This individual will collaborate with team members to achieve project objectives.
Lab Technician Responsibilities:
- Support the development, execution, and evaluation of results essential for the research team, including but not limited to:
- Handling samples in a sterile laboratory environment
- Conducting measurements, imaging, and analysis of experimental data
- Organizing sampling procedures and preparing samples as required
- Carry out plant tissue culture tasks that encompass plant transformation, propagation, and performing analytical assays on plant tissue samples as needed.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to aseptic and sterile practices
- Maintain thorough documentation of experiments with the capability to analyze and interpret data
- Input significant information into proprietary and standard software systems
Lab Technician Qualifications:
- The preferred candidate will hold an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, ideally with relevant industry experience or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
- Experience in plant transformation in either an academic or professional context is highly valued.
- Must possess problem-solving abilities.
- A keen attention to detail and the capability to maintain focus during repetitive tasks are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams, along with the capacity to operate independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational abilities, are mandatory.
- A self-driven individual with a goal-oriented mindset, showcasing outstanding work ethics and time management skills.
