Position Summary
The Lab Technician will support a biotechnology research team developing and evaluating novel plant breeding methods. Working under the guidance of a supervisor, this role will perform plant tissue culture research activities and coordinate with team members to execute experiments, process samples, document results, and support research objectives.
Lab Technician Responsibilities:

• Assist with creating, executing, and scoring experiments that support research team needs.
• Process samples under sterile laboratory conditions using aseptic techniques.
• Measure, image, analyze, and document experimental results.
• Coordinate sample collection and prepare samples as needed.
• Perform plant tissue culture work, including plant transformation and plant propagation activities.
• Conduct analytical assays of plant tissue samples as needed.
• Work in and maintain a safe laboratory environment.
• Document experimental details, analyze data, and interpret results.
• Record pertinent information in proprietary and standard software applications.

Lab Technician Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain focused while performing repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and committed to excellent work practices.

• Industry-related laboratory or biotechnology experience preferred.
• Plant transformation experience in a classroom or industry setting.
