Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician will play a vital role in assisting technical staff with a variety of laboratory operations and handling routine information tasks to support scientific research activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct work within laboratory, greenhouse, and field environments.
- Engage in plant sampling, perform DNA extraction, execute high-throughput PCR, and manage laboratory inventory samples.
- Carry out assigned tasks by adhering to established methods and training provided by the work team.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Science (Chemistry, Biology, or related disciplines) is highly preferred; candidates pursuing a BS in Science with relevant laboratory experience may also be considered.
- Knowledge of key laboratory techniques, particularly DNA extraction and PCR, is essential.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially Microsoft Excel, is necessary.
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a research laboratory setting is required.
