Job Summary
The Laundry Worker plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within a long-term care facility. This position involves managing the process of collecting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing both linens and personal garments for residents, ensuring the highest standards of care and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Collect, wash, dry, and fold linens and personal clothing items.
- Distribute cleaned items to the appropriate areas or individuals.
- Operate laundry machinery and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate records regarding laundry operations and inventory.
- Follow infection control guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in a laundry setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- The ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds as necessary.
- A capacity to work in an environment with cleaning agents and other laundry products.
