Job Summary
The Lead Database Administrator is responsible for comprehensive management of the database environment, overseeing day-to-day operations along with performance optimization and infrastructure upkeep. This role also involves spearheading technical initiatives, providing mentorship to team members, and serving as the key point of contact for database-related concerns.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete database estate, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Conduct daily operations and maintenance tasks for the database systems.
- Lead and participate in various technical projects related to database management.
- Mentor and guide team members to enhance their technical skills.
- Act as the primary point for escalation when database issues arise.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in MySQL database administration.
- Proficiency in Linux system administration and networking, particularly in production settings.
- A strong history of managing extensive database infrastructure effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in dealing with stakeholders.
