Lead IT Business Systems Analyst
Fully Remote (Located in EST)
12-Month Contract (Possibility of Extension)
$75/hr W2
We are seeking a contractor to take charge of the discovery, analysis, documentation, and implementation of business and system needs for our Agency Quoting and Vendor Quoting applications. This role involves collaborating with business leaders, product teams, developers, quality engineers, architects, and operations to deliver solutions that enhance agency interactions, align with business goals, and ensure quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will provide strategic insight into requirements management, process analysis, solution design, and stakeholder engagement.

Daily Responsibilities:
**Requirements Elicitation & Analysis**
– Lead discussions with business stakeholders to capture their needs and goals.
– Evaluate existing and future business processes.
– Collect, document, and refine functional and non-functional requirements.
– Transform business objectives into actionable user stories, features, and acceptance criteria.
– Analyze effects across Agency Quoting, Vendor Quoting, Product, Policy, and Servicing systems.
– Identify dependencies, assumptions, risks, and any requirements gaps.
**Solution Design & Consultation**
– Work closely with developers, architects, and product managers to outline potential solutions.
– Advise on technical resolutions to business challenges.
– Review multiple solution alternatives, weighing their benefits, drawbacks, and business implications.
– Ensure that proposed solutions align with business objectives and operational frameworks.
– Assess designs for completeness and traceability relating to requirements.
**Agile Delivery Support**
– Engage in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release planning processes.
– Develop and maintain epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
– Assist in estimation and prioritization efforts.
– Provide clarity on requirements throughout various stages of development and testing.
– Aid teams in addressing requirement-related inquiries and challenges during implementation.
**Stakeholder Management**
– Serve as the main conduit between business and technical teams.
– Communicate recommendations, impacts, and trade-offs to stakeholders effectively.
– Facilitate discussions for decision-making and drive resolution of issues.
– Regularly update on project status, risks, and changes in requirements.
Essential Skills:
**Business Analysis**
– Proficient in requirements gathering and discovery.
– Expertise in documenting functional and non-functional requirements.
– Development of user stories and definition of acceptance criteria.
– Business process modeling, current-state and future-state analysis, gap analysis, root-cause analysis, impact assessment, and traceability management.
**Agile & Delivery Skills**
– Manage backlog effectively.
– Participate in sprint planning.
– Provide support in release planning and estimation processes.
– Engage in risk and dependency management and lead cross-functional teams.
**Technical Acumen**
– Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
– Knowledgeable in API and system integration.
– Proficient in data analysis and mapping, application architecture basics, and testing methodologies.
– Awareness of cloud technologies and ability to communicate seamlessly with developers and architects.
Preferred Skills:
– Experience with quoting and rating systems, personal lines insurance products, and agency quoting domain knowledge.
– Understanding of policy and product dependencies, state-specific quoting considerations, vendor quoting workflows, and the overall quoting lifecycle.
– Familiarity with accessibility standards and tools (WCAG, Axe, Evinced, etc.) and leveraging AI tools (Copilot, Codex, Claude, etc.) in day-to-day tasks.
– Knowledge of industry standards, such as ACORD and AzDO.
– Experience with comparative rater integrations and insights into vendor integrations alongside business rules management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
– A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Information Technology, business, or a related field, accompanied by at least 6 years of relevant work experience in requirements gathering or systems experience.
– Alternatively, completion of a technical training program with a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
– Or at least 8 years of relevant work experience in requirements gathering activities or system experience may be acceptable.
