Job Summary
The position involves leading a team focused on the development of cryogenic rocket propulsion systems. This role encompasses providing technical guidance in areas such as design, analysis, integration, testing, and operational support. The individual will take ownership of integrated main engine systems and oversee various aspects of engineering plans, team development, project estimation, and the creation of manufacturing documentation and specifications for procurement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and nurture the propulsion team in advancing cryogenic rocket propulsion systems.
- Direct technical efforts across design, analysis, integration, operations, and testing domains.
- Manage integrated main engine systems with a focus on comprehensive engineering plans.
- Facilitate team development and assist in estimating project requirements.
- Prepare and oversee manufacturing documentation and procurement specifications.
- Conduct component and system testing to ensure performance standards are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in rocket propulsion development.
- At least five years of experience specifically working with cryogenic systems; experience with methane and LOX is preferred.
- Proven leadership in technical teams and demonstrated people management abilities.
- Experience in propulsion design through all testing phases.
- Strong capability to prioritize tasks while maintaining a balance of quality, cost, and scheduling across multiple projects.
