Job Summary
The Materials Planner plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing the supply chain for production materials, ensuring that goods are delivered on time and meet quality standards. This position involves planning, coordinating, and monitoring material flow and inventory levels to meet production demands efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain material planning processes to ensure adequate supply for production.
- Analyze inventory levels and sales forecasts to prepare material requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor stock levels and adjust orders as necessary to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
- Utilize planning software to track materials and manage inventory effectively.
- Work closely with the production team to align material availability with manufacturing schedules.
- Implement inventory control measures to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Provide regular updates and reports on materials planning status to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in materials planning or inventory management.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in planning software.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with inventory control principles and practices.
