Job Summary
The Med/Surg RN position is essential for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients within a medical-surgical unit. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to ensure recovery and overall health improvement. Candidates for this role should be ready to engage in teamwork and may be required to undergo an interview process to assess their qualifications and fit for the role.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical setting.
- Conduct regular patient assessments to monitor progress and respond to changing conditions.
- Develop individualized care plans that align with patient needs and objectives.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about health management and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Participate in the quality improvement processes within the nursing unit.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the relevant state.
- Previous experience in a medical-surgical nursing environment is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, procedures, and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) may be required.
- Willingness to participate in continuous education and professional development.
