Medical Affairs Writer
Whippany, NJ
$44-48/HR

The Medical Affairs Writer will play a vital role in supporting the US Medical Affairs team through medical writing, training coordination, compliance monitoring, contract management, and various administrative duties at the departmental level. This position involves close collaboration with Medical Directors, Compliance, Procurement, Legal, and other stakeholders to ensure the maintenance of accurate documentation, facilitate scientific communication, and ensure the efficient completion of necessary processes.

Key Responsibilities of the Medical Affairs Writer:

  • Conduct medical writing and research to aid in the development of scientific publications, medical training initiatives, the review of promotional materials, internal publication clearance, and other documents related to medical affairs.
  • Assist in local medical governance tasks, including compliance tracking, updates on standard operating procedures, and implementing compliance-related initiatives.
  • Manage medical inquiries and coordinate activities related to product research, fellowship programs, and other departmental initiatives.
  • Administer and oversee departmental contracts and purchase orders with scientific leaders, healthcare professionals, vendors, clinical study sites, advisory boards, and other collaborators.
  • Assist in setting agendas, scheduling meetings, and coordinating team efforts to promote performance excellence, capacity building, and operational effectiveness.
  • Facilitate assessments of fair market value and ensure compliance with contracts by liaising with the Procurement and Legal departments.
  • Provide additional administrative support to the Medical Affairs team as required.

Qualifications for the Medical Affairs Writer:

  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant biomedical discipline such as pharmacology, biology, biochemistry, pharmacy, or medical sciences.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a biomedical environment is preferred.
