Job Summary
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in the healthcare team, providing both administrative support and clinical assistance to ensure efficient operations and optimal patient care. This position involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall well-being of patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Handle patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting vital signs.
- Manage scheduling, coordinating appointments and follow-ups for patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Prepare examination rooms and keep medical equipment sterile and organized.
- Administer medications and perform basic laboratory tests as directed by physicians.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, and overall health maintenance.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent training.
- Certification from a recognized body such as the AAMA or AMT preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact positively with patients and staff.
- Proficiency in medical software and basic computer applications.
- Ability to handle clinical and administrative tasks efficiently.
- Team player with a compassionate approach to patient care.
