Job description
Job Summary
The Medical Assistant 2 plays a crucial role in providing support to healthcare professionals while ensuring a safe and efficient patient experience. This position involves both administrative and clinical tasks that enhance patient care and maintain excellent operational flow within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Manage patient records and ensure their accuracy and confidentiality.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care for patients.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist in the collection of specimens.
- Administer medications as directed by a licensed practitioner.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines within the practice setting.
- Educate patients about procedures and answer any questions they may have.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a medical assistant (CMA, RMA, or similar) is desirable.
- Experience in a clinical setting is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
