Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in providing both clinical and administrative support within a dynamic outpatient clinic environment. This position collaborates closely with physicians and nurses to ensure exceptional patient care and smooth day-to-day operations of the clinic.
Key Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant:
- Prepare exam rooms and gather patients’ medical histories, ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic medical records (EMR).
- Measure and record patients’ vital signs.
- Administer vaccinations and support with standard clinical practices within the scope of certification.
- Conduct diagnostic tests, collect specimens, and perform phlebotomy when necessary.
- Ensure that medical tools are sterilized and maintain tidy, organized examination areas.
- Assist healthcare professionals with direct patient care tasks.
- Keep precise records of patient information within the electronic medical system.
- Offer administrative assistance and uphold excellent customer relations in a busy clinical setting.
- Employ Microsoft Outlook and other software systems to facilitate daily clinic functions.
Medical Assistant Requirements:
- 1–3 years of relevant back-office experience as a Medical Assistant, delivering direct patient care.
- Valid Medical Assistant Certification or Registration (CMA, RMA, or similar).
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Collaborative mindset with a capacity to excel in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Outlook.
- Commitment to undergoing TB screening upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
- Experience in professional phlebotomy.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of HEDIS quality measures.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Active certification as an ARRT (Radiologic Technologist).
