Job Summary
The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in the healthcare setting by providing support to physicians and medical staff. This position involves both clinical and administrative tasks that facilitate efficient patient care and office operation.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Manage patient records and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by a physician.
- Schedule patient appointments and handle front office tasks.
- Educate patients about treatment plans and office procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
- Certification from a recognized medical assistant organization is a plus.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
