Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for executing moderately to highly complex laboratory tests while maintaining stringent quality control and ensuring the precise reporting of results. This role also involves a supportive function in various laboratory operations including troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, staff education, and compliance with regulatory requirements such as CLIA and HIPAA.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a range of laboratory testing procedures of moderate to high complexity.
- Ensure quality control measures are implemented and results are accurately reported.
- Provide troubleshooting support for laboratory processes and instruments.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments.
- Assist in training other staff members in laboratory protocols and procedures.
- Adhere to all regulatory standards regarding laboratory operations, including CLIA and HIPAA compliance.
Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of full-time experience or training in high complexity clinical laboratory testing.
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science or related field is required.
