Microbiologist
Berkeley, CA
$34-36/hr
1 Year Contract – Potential for Extension
The Microbiologist will conduct microbiological assays to support GMP and clinical product release processes.
Responsibilities of the Microbiologist:
- Assist with the daily operations of QC microbiology labs.
- Perform microbiological analyses on in-process samples, including growth promotion testing.
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), regulatory standards, and safety measures in all testing activities.
- Keep the laboratory environment clean and organized.
- Show the willingness to acquire new skills and achieve proficiency.
- Assist with method verifications for both clinical and commercial products.
Requirements for the Microbiologist:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related scientific discipline, along with 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience, ideally in the pharmaceutical or biotech sectors and/or in a GMP setting.
- Capability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple diverse tasks concurrently while adhering to deadlines.
- Proficient with computer applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
- Detail-oriented with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated capability to adhere to established procedures.
