NGS Applications Specialist
Boston, MA
$30-45/hr
6-Month Contract
The position of NGS Applications Specialist is designed to provide customers with top-notch and efficient sequencing services. It is essential for candidates to possess a solid background in various NGS applications.
Key Responsibilities of the NGS Applications Specialist:
- Adhere to established standard operating procedures (SOPs) to carry out NGS wet lab experiments focused on mammalian cell applications, including DRUGseq, RNAseq, and Amplicon Sequencing.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by collaborating with the cell assay team to process samples and deliver results.
- Exhibit excellence by diagnosing and resolving issues while upholding our rigorous quality standards.
- Engage in training on new protocols and aid in enhancing SOPs.
- Play a role in Lean/Six Sigma initiatives within shared workspaces.
- Contribute as a team member by assisting with general lab upkeep and other related duties.
- Maintain an organized work environment and keep a detailed laboratory notebook.
- Assist in managing inventory and ordering laboratory materials.
Qualifications for the NGS Applications Specialist:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related discipline, accompanied by 1-3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience with molecular biology protocols and a solid understanding of associated reagents.
- Hands-on experience with Illumina library preparation and NGS.
- Familiarity with high-throughput automation processes.
- Proficiency in various molecular biology techniques and sequencing technologies, including DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, RT-qPCR, DNAseq, and RNAseq.
- Capability to function effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
