Research Investigator

Pay Rate: $29 – $31/HR
The Research Investigator will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuity, efficiency, and quality of data for various essential and time-sensitive plant pathology research initiatives. These projects are integral to supporting breeding programs, trait characterization, and advancing product development priorities. This position is central to generating dependable disease resistance data and achieving subsequent decision-making milestones.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and implement projects independently in both field and controlled environments, including greenhouses and growth chambers.
• Design, manage, and execute experimental work with a strong emphasis on rigor, quality, and adhering to timelines.
• Utilize strong problem-solving abilities to recognize obstacles, modify methodologies, and formulate effective solutions to achieve actionable results.
• Thrive in uncertain or shifting research contexts, making decisions based on data.
• Effectively manage multiple tasks, proactively advancing work and producing high-quality results with minimal oversight.
• Maintain a results-driven approach, focusing on translating experimental findings into clear, actionable outcomes and recommendations.
• Exhibit strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with research, breeding, and technical teams.
• Document methodologies, summarize findings, and report progress and results clearly.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Plant Pathology, Plant Science, Agronomy, Biological Sciences, or a closely related field.
• Proven experience in plant pathology research, disease phenotyping, or relevant agricultural sciences.
