Job Summary
The Night Shift Registered Nurse (RN) plays an essential role in delivering superior patient care during nighttime hours. The RN is responsible for monitoring patient health, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure the highest standards of care are met. This role requires a strong commitment to patient advocacy, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during the night shift.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as per established protocols.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall health.
- Document patient care activities accurately in health records.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and support staff regarding patient status and needs.
- Assist with emergency situations and implement appropriate interventions.
- Educate and support patients and their families regarding health issues and post-discharge care.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting is advantageous.
- Strong assessment, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus.
