Job Summary
The Night Shift Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care during the overnight hours. This position requires a dedicated professional who can perform nursing duties independently while ensuring the comfort and safety of patients. This role emphasizes effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout the night, assessing their needs and monitoring vital signs.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed, while observing for any adverse reactions.
- Documenting patient progress and significant changes in health status in electronic health records accurately.
- Providing support and education to patients and their families regarding health care plans and recovery processes.
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to facilitate coordinated care.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Responding promptly to emergencies and managing crises effectively.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work night shifts and adapt to changing patient needs.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus.
