Job Summary

The Ophthalmic Technician plays a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists by performing various clinical tasks related to eye care. This position is integral in ensuring that patients receive thorough and efficient examinations and treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary diagnostic tests and gather patient medical history.
  • Assist in eye examinations and interpret diagnostic results.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms and equipment.
  • Provide patients with education regarding eye health and procedures.
  • Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in ophthalmic technology preferred.
  • Proven experience as an ophthalmic technician or in a related healthcare field.
  • Strong understanding of ocular anatomy and common ophthalmic procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and patient interaction abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently.
