Job Summary
The Ophthalmic Technician plays a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists by performing various clinical tasks related to eye care. This position is integral in ensuring that patients receive thorough and efficient examinations and treatments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary diagnostic tests and gather patient medical history.
- Assist in eye examinations and interpret diagnostic results.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and equipment.
- Provide patients with education regarding eye health and procedures.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in ophthalmic technology preferred.
- Proven experience as an ophthalmic technician or in a related healthcare field.
- Strong understanding of ocular anatomy and common ophthalmic procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and patient interaction abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently.
