Pay:
$1,277.47 – $1,780.00 per week

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist/Liaison to join our dynamic surgical team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting surgical procedures by preparing operating rooms, assisting surgeons, and ensuring adherence to strict aseptic techniques. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care excellence within a fast-paced hospital environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in surgical instrumentation, patient safety protocols, and comprehensive understanding of anatomy and physiology to facilitate optimal surgical outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms with sterile equipment, instruments, and supplies in accordance with hospital standards and infection control protocols.
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing, and managing surgical tools efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures, including medical records and intraoperative data within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and ensure patient safety throughout the perioperative process.
  • Support preoperative and postoperative patient care activities, including patient positioning and wound management.
  • Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure a sterile environment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesia providers, nurses, and physicians to coordinate seamless surgical workflows.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to various surgical specialties such as trauma, pediatrics, or critical care.
  • Assist in data collection for quality improvement initiatives related to surgical practices.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies regarding infection control, safety procedures, and regulatory standards.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Surgical Technician with expertise in OR procedures across diverse specialties including trauma centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), ICU (Intensive Care Unit), or ambulatory surgery centers.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices.
  • Proficiency in handling surgical instruments such as suturing tools and understanding aseptic techniques.
  • Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or other EHR platforms for documentation purposes.
  • Experience with data collection, analysis skills, and familiarity with hospital information systems.
  • Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) and respond effectively during emergency situations in the operating room.
  • Knowledge of hospital medicine, critical care environments, and acute care procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and surgical supplies.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating within multidisciplinary teams across diverse healthcare settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure environments while maintaining patient safety standards.
