Job Summary
The OR RN Circulator plays a critical role in the surgical team, responsible for overseeing and facilitating the smooth operation of the surgical procedure. This position requires a dedicated professional who ensures patient safety and effective communication within the operating room environment. The OR RN Circulator is expected to perform various duties before, during, and after surgeries, maintaining high standards of practice and compliance with protocols.
Responsibilities
- Manage the surgical environment, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor and support the patient’s needs throughout the surgical process, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Assist with the preparation of the operating room, including sterilization processes and equipment setup.
- Document patient information and surgical details accurately in compliance with hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- Current registered nurse (RN) license is required.
- Previous experience in perioperative nursing or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and best practices in patient care.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with the surgical team and patients.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with a calm and composed demeanor.
