Job Summary
The OR RN Circulator role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the surgical environment. This position is responsible for overseeing patient safety and maintaining the integrity of the surgical procedures. The OR RN Circulator will collaborate closely with surgical teams to provide optimal care and support throughout various surgeries.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all activities in the operating room, ensuring a safe environment for patients and surgical teams.
- Assist in the preparation of the operating room for various surgical procedures, including equipment setup and instrument sterilization.
- Monitor patient safety and comfort during surgery, addressing any needs or emergencies that arise.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to facilitate successful procedures.
- Document and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and patient care.
- Participate in continuous education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge in surgical nursing.
Qualifications
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in a surgical setting, particularly in a circulator role, is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures, instruments, and sterile techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork and patient interactions.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
