Job Summary
The CVOR ST (Clinical Vascular Operating Room Surgical Technologist) plays a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures pertaining to the vascular system. This position involves a blend of technical and collaborative skills aimed at ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment for both patients and medical teams. The CVOR ST is expected to maintain high standards of care during operations and assist in various pre-operative and post-operative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Provide support during surgical procedures by preparing the operating room and gathering necessary instruments and supplies.
- Assist the surgical team with surgical draping and positioning of patients.
- Ensure all equipment functions properly before surgery and follows infection control policies.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.
- Maintain an organized environment in the surgical setting, including proper instrument handling.
- Participate in the cleaning and sterilization of instruments post-surgery.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and any relevant information during surgical procedures.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized surgical technology program.
- Certification as a surgical technologist (e.g., CST or NCCT is preferred).
- Experience in a surgical or clinical environment, particularly in vascular surgery is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and operating procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to facilitate effective collaboration.
- Detail-oriented approach and ability to function under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
