Job Summary
The OR29RN position focuses on providing nursing care in thoracic and vascular surgical procedures. The role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the surgical environment, supporting both patients and surgical teams throughout the operative experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, organization, and coordination of surgical procedures related to thoracic and vascular cases.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients undergoing surgery.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals in the operating room.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and assess their condition continuously during surgical procedures.
- Ensure that surgical instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
- Educate patients and their families regarding post-surgical care and recovery expectations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of surgical procedures and patient responses.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state.
- Experience in the operating room, preferably in thoracic and vascular specialties.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and anatomy related to thoracic and vascular systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with calmness and efficiency.
