Job Summary
The Pathologist’s Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting pathologists by preparing and analyzing tissue samples. This position is vital for ensuring accurate diagnoses and treatment plans through collaboration with medical staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist pathologists in examining and interpreting tissue specimens.
- Prepare specimens for analysis, ensuring proper documentation and identification.
- Participate in the gross examination of surgical specimens.
- Provide support for patient care through collaboration with various medical personnel.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Certification as a Pathologists’ Assistant or eligibility for certification.
- Strong understanding of anatomy and histology.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
