Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician is an integral part of the healthcare team, responsible for providing direct clinical support and assistance to patients in various healthcare settings. This role emphasizes compassionate care, ensuring that patients receive the attention and services they need to enhance their overall well-being and facilitate optimal recovery.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding.
- Monitor and document vital signs and other relevant health information.
- Prepare and maintain patient rooms for comfort and safety.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to implement care plans.
- Provide emotional support and communication to patients and families.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Patient Care Technician program is preferred.
- Certification in CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and show empathy towards patients.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- One year of experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
