Job Summary
The Patient Collections Specialist is responsible for handling a significant volume of both incoming and outgoing calls from patients to address various billing concerns, arrange payment plans, and resolve account disputes. This role also involves collaborating with insurance providers and meticulously documenting all financial communications in the billing system.
Responsibilities
- Manage a high volume of patient calls to address billing inquiries.
- Negotiate payment arrangements and facilitate discussions regarding account disputes.
- Coordinate with insurance companies to ensure accurate processing of claims.
- Document all financial interactions in the billing system for record-keeping.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in a medical office or a busy call center environment.
- Preferred background in orthopedic billing.
- Strong understanding of insurance terms such as Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), deductibles, and coinsurance.
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
