Job Summary
The PCU/Tele Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a progressive care unit, particularly for those requiring telemetry monitoring. This role combines direct patient care with the assessment and management of complex health conditions while ensuring the safety and comfort of patients.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients in the PCU/Tele unit, promptly identifying any changes in their conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians while adhering to best practices.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medications, and health management strategies.
- Document all patient care activities accurately in accordance with hospital policies.
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols while providing care.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in a PCU or Telemetry setting is preferred.
- Ability to perform crucial technical skills and proficiency in using medical equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and patients.
- BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
