Job Summary
The PCU/Tele Registered Nurse (RN) position entails providing comprehensive and specialized care to patients in a progressive care unit and telemetry setting. This role necessitates close monitoring and assessment of patients who are recovering from acute illnesses or surgical interventions, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting patients’ recovery while collaborating effectively with healthcare teams.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and monitor vital signs regularly.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Manage patient care plans, adjusting as necessary based on patient status.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding discharge procedures and ongoing care.
- Document all patient-related information accurately in electronic medical records.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and care strategies.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the unit.
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Prior experience in a telemetry or progressive care nursing role is advantageous.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
