Job Summary
The Inpatient Pharmacist plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients within a hospital setting. This position involves collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize pharmaceutical care for inpatient populations, maintaining high standards of medication management.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Work closely with doctors and nursing staff to administer medications and therapeutic regimens.
- Provide patient counseling and education regarding medication use, side effects, and interactions.
- Monitor patient outcomes and adjust medication therapies as necessary.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives related to pharmaceutical care.
Qualifications
- PharmD degree from an accredited institution.
- Current pharmacist licensure in the state of practice.
- Experience in an inpatient pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and medication management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
