Job Summary
The Pharmacy Medical Billing Specialist plays a critical role in managing the entire billing process for intravenous and oral therapies through the pharmacy’s dedicated platform. This position focuses on maximizing payment accuracy and efficiency by handling claims, investigating billing guidelines, and engaging in communication with both patients and insurance providers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete billing cycle for IV and oral therapies.
- Manage and submit claims to insurance companies.
- Research and understand applicable billing policies and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients and insurance representatives to facilitate timely payments.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 1-3 years of experience in medical or specialty pharmacy infusion billing.
- Proficiency in coding standards, including HCPC, ICD-10, and CPT.
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
