Job Summary
The Phlebotomy Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the phlebotomy department, ensuring that all procedures and protocols are adhered to for the collection of blood samples. This role requires maintaining high standards of quality and safety while providing leadership and support to the phlebotomy team.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the phlebotomy staff and manage scheduling to ensure adequate coverage.
- Oversee the training and development of new phlebotomists.
- Implement and maintain quality control standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Address any issues or complaints related to phlebotomy services.
- Conduct performance evaluations and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in phlebotomy is preferred.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
