Job Summary
The Phlebotomy Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by collecting blood samples from patients and ensuring their secure transport to the laboratory. This role requires the technician to adhere to rigorous patient identification standards and to manage sensitive patient information with the utmost confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Collect blood specimens from patients.
- Ensure the safe transport of samples to the laboratory.
- Follow strict protocols for patient identification.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Completion of HeartSaver CPR training is expected.
- Preference for candidates with MLA certification.
- Associate degree in biology or chemistry is advantageous.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
