Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) plays a crucial role in supporting licensed physical therapists in delivering quality care to patients. This professional assists in the implementation of treatment plans tailored to help individuals recover their mobility and strength, while also promoting overall wellness and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting evaluations and assessments of patients under the direction of a licensed physical therapist.
  • Implement treatment plans designed by the physical therapist.
  • Monitor patient progress and report findings back to the supervising therapist.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises and necessary adjustments to promote recovery.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, safe treatment environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited physical therapist assistant program.
  • State licensure or certification to practice as a physical therapist assistant.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation principles and practices.
