Job Summary
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) plays a crucial role in providing therapeutic care to patients under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. This position entails assisting in the implementation of treatment plans, observing and documenting patient progress, and ensuring a supportive environment for rehabilitation. The PTA will engage with patients to facilitate their recovery and enhance their overall physical well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist the physical therapist in delivering treatments and therapies as outlined in patient care plans.
- Monitor and record patient responses and progress during therapy sessions.
- Support patients in exercises and activities aimed at improving mobility and strength.
- Prepare treatment areas and maintain equipment to ensure a safe and effective therapeutic environment.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and wellness techniques.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused environment.
- Compassionate attitude towards patient care and rehabilitation.
