Senior Project Architect

**Job Overview:**
The Senior Project Architect is a vital leadership figure within our organization, charged with directing the design and implementation of intricate architectural projects. This role demands a highly skilled professional who combines robust technical knowledge with exceptional project management abilities, as well as a talent for mentoring less experienced team members. The Senior Project Architect ensures that all project outputs meet established quality, regulatory, and design criteria while cultivating solid client relationships and enhancing the firm’s growth and reputation.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Steer and oversee a variety of architectural projects from initial concept to final execution.
  • Act as the primary technical and design authority for designated project types, offering strategic insights and direction.
  • Coordinate the efforts of junior architects, designers, and consultants to guarantee high-quality outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Manage the creation of comprehensive architectural drawings, BIM models, specifications, and necessary documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant building codes, zoning laws, standards, and quality benchmarks.
  • Guide, mentor, and evaluate junior staff to encourage their professional development and enhance project effectiveness.
  • Establish and monitor project schedules, workflows, and resource allocation to achieve successful delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication, prompt responses, and reliable follow-up.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers regarding budgets, timelines, client presentations, and team collaboration.
  • Provide strategic advice on technical best practices, firm protocols, and opportunities for process enhancement.
  • Represent the firm at industry events and within the professional community.
  • Engage in or lead community service activities as applicable.

**Qualifications:**

  • Over 10 years of experience in architecture.
  • At least 5 years in a licensed or registered architect capacity.
  • Expertise in one primary building type or project area (e.g., healthcare, education, civic, commercial, residential, etc.).
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in managing project teams and collaborating with external stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in architectural design and production software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, construction techniques, and documentation protocols.
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, and client management skills.
  • Capability to work effectively in teams, show initiative, and deliver results.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Active participation in industry associations (e.g., AIA, USGBC).
  • Experience in community service or volunteer roles.
