Job Summary
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering prescribed ionizing radiation therapy to patients, adhering to established safety procedures and maintaining precise documentation throughout the treatment process.
Responsibilities
- Administer ionizing radiation treatments as directed by the medical team.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols for both patients and staff during therapy.
- Prepare treatment rooms and necessary equipment for patient procedures.
- Continuously monitor patients for any potential complications arising during therapy.
- Accurately document treatments and patient responses as required.
Qualifications
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy.
- Therapeutic Radiology Technology certification is essential.
- A Bachelor’s degree in radiological technology is preferred.
- Relevant clinical experience in the radiation therapy field is desired.
